Morocco Desert Tours 11 days

Day 1: Casablanca

Upon your arrival to Mohammed V airport in Casablanca, your driver will meet you to take to the hotel.

On your way to the hotel/riad, your driver will provide you with a brief review of your tour.

You will have dinner and sleep at the hotel.

Day 2: Casablanca – Rabat – Meknes – Volubilis – Fes

First, and after your breakfast, you have a tour to the Hassan II mosque, one of the largest mosques in the World.

Then, we will drive towards Fes.

We will stop in Rabat, the capital of Morocco, to have lunch and to explore this beautiful coastal city.

After lunch, we will head to discover the Imperial city of Meknes that is known as the “Moroccan Versailles”.

Then, we will set off to Volubilis, the ancient Roman ruins, to spend a good time exploring the 2000-year-old ruins.

After that, we will head to Fes for an overnight.

Day 3: Fes sightseeing

to start with, in the morning, you will enjoy a guided tour around Fes that was the capital of Morocco for more than 400 years. It is the oldest cultural, spiritual and religious imperial city, which was founded in 790 AD by Moulay Idriss II.

It is recognized as one of the finest in the world by UNESCO, and has been designated a World Heritage Site.

We will start our tour from the entrance of the largest royal palace in Morocco.

Then, visit the medieval Medina with its Medersas. Attarine and Bou Anania, the Nejjarine fountain, the Moulay Idriss mausoleum, and the Karaouine Mosque University.

After that, enjoy a lunch at a traditional restaurant in the Medina.

Continuing our journey to explore the medina and its narrow alleys and cobbled streets that are filled with ancient mosques.

Day 4: Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Ziz Valley – Erfoud

After breakfast, we will drive towards Erfoud.

we will pass by a forest of cedars and across the Middle Atlas Mountain range to the mineral mining city of Midelt. Where we will have lunch.

Then, we will continue our journey to Ziz valley that is known for its palm trees and the length of the oasis.

All along the road there are innumerable small villages of individual houses.

When we will reach Erfoud, which is famous for its date festival and its rich black fossil marble.

Finally, you will have dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Erfoud – Rissani – Merzouga – Erg chebbi dunes

Our Sahara journey will start from Erfoud with a visit to a nomad village, and lunch at the hotel by the dunes of Erg Chebbi.

You will have time relaxing before the next part of your adventure.

Then, we will camel trek over the sands enjoying the sunset with its wonderful red hue.

As night falls, we will gather round the fire to listen to the intoxicating beat of Berber drum music and song. Also we will enjoy a Moroccan home-cooked feast before sleeping under the stars in your private nomad tent.

Day 6: Merzouga – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley

Starting your day early with a picturesque sunrise before enjoying your breakfast.

We head back to Merzouga to re-join your vehicle and continue your trip towards Todra gorges travelling along the rugged road of a thousand Kasbahs.

This area has long been a popular location for Hollywood films such as the last temptation of Christ and Gladiator.

We arrive to the stunning gorges of todra where water runs between the rocks.You have to enjoy the views of natural beauty.

We continue through the dades valley where you will have dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Dades valley – Rose valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou – Marrakesh

After breakfast, we will start with an easy stroll through Dades Valley and Rose Valley. The latter is known for its annual festival during the roses harvest in May.

Then, stop at “Kelaa M’gouna” as called the Rose City, for a short walk. Continue to Skoura to visit the “Kasbah Ameridil”.

Our journey continues to Ouarzazate “Hollywood of Africa”, where some famous movies have been filmed as “Lawrence of Arabia”, “The Mummy”; its stunning landscapes have lured several movies producers for ages.

We will pass by then a UNESCO World Heritage Site, “Ait Benhaddou Kasbah”.

Afterwards, start crossing the high Atlas Mountains with amazing panoramic views and attractive Berber villages to get to Marrakesh.

You will have dinner and sleep in a riad/hotel.

Day 8: Marrakesh sightseeing

After breakfast, you will have a guided tour of Marrakech, the red city of Morocco.

We will visit Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs, and many other hidden treasures.

After lunch, you will continue with the tour on to the magnificent Koutoubia Mosque and the famous Jamaa el-Fna. It is one of the center attractions of Marrakech.

We will conclude the tour an exploration of the souk (market).

You will have dinner and sleep in a riad/at a hotel.

Day 9: Marrakesh – Essaouira

After breakfast, we set off to the coastal fishing port of Essaouira, which is fortunate to have an excellent climate, with cooling sea breezes in the summer and warming lowland air in winter.

We will enjoy the lovely climate together. With its beautiful Portuguese architecture, it has always lured artists, hippies and poets since the Sixties.

This stunning small town is known for local handicrafts, especially thuja wood furniture, carving and small artifacts.

Lately, You will have dinner and overnight in your place of accomodation.

Day 10: Essaouira – Safi – El Jadida – Casablanca

After breakfast, we will head off to Casablanca via the picturesque coastal road, stopping in Oualidia for a fish lunch in a local restaurant with sea view.

Continue to El Jadida, exploring the town and the famous citadel, built under the Portuguese occupation in the 16th century.

Arrival to Casablanca in the evening.

You will have dinner and overnight in a riad/at a hotel.

Day 11: Casablanca

Finally, You will be heading to the airport for departure.
